Nativa Furniture is a family owned luxury furniture company that was founded in San Diego in the year 2000. From day one, Nativa’s owners agreed to provide a very unique product, with incredible quality at good prices. The company evolved from its sole offering of rustic, yet elegant spanish ironwood collections to its current vast collections of spanish, mediterranean and contemporary furniture collections. What truly separates Nativa from its competition is the fact that over 90% of its furniture collections are built in house in solid wood by Nativa’s own team of incredible cabinet makers. Nativa’s factories are in Argentina, Peru and Mexico and all of the woods that Nativa uses are imported from Peru, Paraguay, Bolivia and Argentina.
Currently, Nativa has a 10,000 square feet showroom in San Diego, a 7000 square feet showroom in Solana Beach (Cedros Design District) and a 7000 square feet showroom in West Los Angeles. These showrooms are supported by Nativa's warehouse located in South San Diego county.
In 2001, when very few companies in the furniture industry were thinking about global warming, Nativa furniture began a research process to understand how to positively impact its environmental footprint. Nativa started this process by carefully selecting wood species that were either FSC certified or responsibly harvested. The next step was to research the most environmentally friendly finishing products to minimize the company’s production footprint. Today, all of Nativa’s finishes are both low voc and of water based origin. During this nine year process, Nativa has managed to maintain its finish quality moving from high voc oil based products to near zero voc water based premium finishes. It also kept its wood quality by using beautiful hardwood species from Peru, Bolivia and Paraguay that are responsibly harvested.
